Wednesday Sep 04, 2024
Jen Dellosso is a volunteer at Sparrow Place, a home and recovery center for survivors of human trafficking and prostitution. During a volunteer trip to an East Asian country, Jen gave out care packages in a red light district and learned about the scale of trafficking that goes on in the world. Having seen some of the most awful ways that humans destroy the humanity in others. Jen returned to the United States heartbroken. She also returned inspired, for she had also experienced the ways in which people come together, providing community resources to foster hope and healing. Jen began working with Sparrow Place, offering support to local victims of trafficking and encouraging them as they rebuild their lives and tackle the incredibly difficult process of recovery. Jen is a home school mom who has spent considerable time in South Korea learning about the people who live there and the culture of the Korean people. If you would like to learn more about the horrors of trafficking in our country, here is a good place to start: https://www.cascadepbs.org/2017/07/seattle-prostitution-survivor-violence-police-sting If you’d like to help support Jen’s work with Sparrow Place, you can make a contribution at: Sparrowplace.org
