Tim Rich: host of the Mainesplainer podcast

Tim Rich is a lifelong Mainer and the founder of Bar Harbor’s legendary The Independent Cafe. He is an author, political junkie, and outdoor adventurer. He launched this podcast because he believes that humanity is experiencing an existential crisis that is unique in world history. Many of us feel lost and confused and are clinging to narrow ideologies or outdated thinking. The Mainesplainer is a long form conversation podcast hosted by Rich and featuring his old friends and notable guests, including Mainers and those from away. They cover a wide range of topics including politics, spirituality, ecology, endurance athletics, culture, the arts, and philosophy. He currently lives in a heavily fortified compound in the foothills of the White Mountains.
